'The Musings of a Senile Delinquent'

The older I get the more I have learned to be content with my life. I have realised that contentment isn’t getting what I want but being satisfied with what I have. The secret of contentment is this realisation that life is a gift, and not a right. Life is a coin that can be spent anyway you want to but it can only be spent once. We are long time vegetarians and live a frugal life style. Recycling as much as we can, and buying environmentally friendly goods.

My children get older while I stay somewhere between 30 and 40! Having a husband twenty years younger than I am helps to! Why should I at 50+ conform to the old fashioned stereotypes of age? On a good day I look like this, enhanced by soft lights and a professional photographer...I don't normally wear such a posh hat but this photograph was taken at my son's wedding in July 2002.

I have three children from a previous marriage.. was divorced in 1979. The children are all grown up and independent with partners of their own. I remarried in 1990..much to my surprise as I had not intended to marry again. It was cause for concern with our minister who refused to marry us, Martin is 20 years younger than I am and was only 20 at the time we married. We were told that it wouldn't last three months...it is now 2008 and we are still happily married.
